Verse of the Moment

Stop trusting in man, who has but a breath in his nostrils. Of what account is he? Isaiah 2:11, NIV

This text just serves as a reminder that when we pin our hopes on political leaders, of any persuasion, without looking for a more permanent anchor for our lives, something is missing. Later in the same extended passage, God addresses the leaders of the most favored nation on earth:

The Lord takes his place in court; he rises to judge the people. The Lord enters into judgment against the elders and leaders of his people: “It is you who have ruined my vineyard; the plunder from the poor is in your houses. What do you mean by crushing my people and grinding the faces of the poor?” declares the Lord, the Lord almighty.Isaiah 3:13-15
